In recent months, the board of the Canada Marketing Committee (CMC) has been undergoing a repositioning. In May 2024 at Rendez-Vous in Edmonton, it once again became clear that the Netherlands is not a Key International Market for Destination Canada. Nor will this change in the short term. At the same time, many Canadian provinces, local DMCs and other organizations do want to invest in the Dutch market. This gives potential to further grow the CMC and further strengthen contacts with Canadian partners. Indeed, the CMC offers a low-threshold opportunity to connect directly with the Dutch market.

To achieve this, the CMC has taken the next step in professionalizing the foundation. Administrative and executive tasks will be separated. Target Travel Marketing (TTM) will take on the secretariat responsibilities from mid-June 2024. TTM was approached because of their knowledge and experience with Visit USA and because they organize the Canada Pavilion at the Vakantiebeurs.
