For the first time in 23 years, the yearly International Round up was held in North Dakota’s capital Bismarck. Tour operators from 7 countries were taken on a tour through the city and its surroundings. Life at a real ranch, the expeditions of Lewis and Clark, meeting the native residents of the area, the Mandan, and discovering the footprints of General Custer; the area within a one day drive from Bismarck is filled with historic places and monuments. In Bismarck there was time to lunch in one of the great local restaurants and to get a drink in one of the many cozy bars. The group also paid a visit to the intriguing heritage center, exploring North Dakota’s history from rock to present.

The yearly DNE Summit meeting was held for the 22nd time in 2017. This year it was held in the gorgeous and majestic Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods. Target Travel Marketing guided the Dutch and Belgian delegation to this very productive summit. In three days over 80 ‘buyers’, tour operators and zra’s from all over the world spoke with 160 ‘suppliers’; everyone who offers tourist products and services in one of the New England states. During this years summit over 5,000 informing and inspiring meetings took place regarding the region. There was also some relaxing-time! Like hopping aboard a train on the Cog Railway, a small train that takes you all the way to the top of Mount Washington – the highest peak of New England! New England is known for its amazing and diverse cuisine: pancakes with Maple Syrup, juicy steaks and the many drinks that are brewed in the region.

Travel South USA has organized the International Showcase for the fifth consecutive year. A delegation of 7 persons from the Benelux partook in this event. Every year the International Showcase is held in a different city from the 12 states represented by Travel South. In 2016 it was lively Atlanta’s turn. The city in Georgia known for Coca Cola, CNN, Ponce Market and many more of its characteristic attributes. The yearly event gives 150 international tour operators the chance to meet with the representatives of the 12 Southern states and more than 150 suppliers from the deep South of the USA.
